In every one of our projects, the external documents represent a major challenge. Corporate design/corporate identity, consistency, individuality and flexibility usually cause the effort for programming the SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) reports to soar. With Lasernet we have discovered a product that allows precisely this effort to be reduced – not least because you, as the customer, can implement a relatively large amount yourself via a graphical interface after a short introduction. In addition, the product offers comprehensive input/output management, with which, for example, invoices that have been created can be sent individually per customer by PDF, paper or XML. Technically, Lasernet is embedded in AX by means of its own module/connector and is controlled via the normal print dialog. This passes an XML file to the Lasernet server, which then populates and renders it into a defined report. For us, the advantages lie in being able to change something on the forms quickly and even in live operation, and in the fact that, when upgrading to a new AX version, nothing has to be done to the reports. In addition, several form versions can be managed relatively easily (e.g. customer- or country-specific delivery notes/invoices). Link to the manufacturer Video:
