The Role Center makes it possible to provide employees with role-based information tailored to their areas of expertise. The Role Center serves as the home page and is chosen as the entry point into AX. Ideally, the system answers the following questions for the user: What are my tasks and what is their scope? What do I need to do next? What is the status of the processes under my responsibility? What are my tasks and what is their scope? So-called Cues make it very easy and quick to gain an overview of the scope of the upcoming tasks. To do this, in the standard filter of an AX form, choose «Modify > Save as Cue» using the button. The filter result is then available in graphical form in the Role Center; for example, the production manager can display the state of their various production statuses. Clicking on the Cue, e.g. overdue productions, opens the corresponding AX form with the filter. Only the overdue productions are then displayed. With the help of defined threshold values, critical quantities can be highlighted graphically. What do I need to do next? Tasks from activities and alerts can be displayed in a work list. A click takes you directly to the corresponding activity in the AX form, or in the case of an alert rule to the triggering record. What is the status of the processes under my responsibility? To get an overview of the state of one's own processes, there is the option of displaying figures from Microsoft Dynamics AX data cubes (Cubes). This makes it possible to analyse figures in tabular or graphical form, as well as to make comparisons with previous periods.
