Customers of earlier AX versions up to 2012 R3 know the tune all too well: whenever statutory reports, payment formats (such as ISO20022), Intrastat, electronic invoices, tax declarations, the EU Sales List, audit files or similar things changed in an individual legal entity / country, a hotfix (KB) usually had to be downloaded and installed in the past. Afterwards, a code reconciliation by the developer was needed to check whether the hotfix was compatible with the customer's modifications. With the D365FO version, hotfixes are generally no longer needed. Instead, via the so-called Electronic Reporting you can download hundreds of ready-made document configurations for export and import through LCS. If a statutory requirement changes, Microsoft publishes this adjustment. We can then import this adjusted configuration into the ERP as XML, without touching the standard code in the ERP. With a little know-how, existing configurations can even be adapted to customer requirements in the Designer . A practical example of this would be that we can control payment advices to vendors such that they are automatically sent to a specific email address of the vendor.
