Since version AX 2012, there has been the option to import currency exchange rates from various service providers. The currency pairs can be created automatically and the rates stored along with them. Three providers are available by default: European Central Bank The configuration is simple and works flawlessly straight away. Unfortunately, the ECB only provides rates against the euro online. This provider is therefore limited to the CHF/EUR rate or to companies whose company currency is the euro. OANDA Rates With OANDA, an API key is required, which must be stored at the exchange rate provider: This service costs 400$ per month, but it also works impeccably. Central Bank of the Russian Federation Unfortunately, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation also does not provide exchange rates from CHF to third currencies via the interface. Bank of Lithuania In AX 2012, the Bank of Lithuania was still available. This did not make it into the features of Dynamics 365. To limit the currency pairs to those that are needed in the process, it is advisable to create them in advance rather than having them created automatically during the import. The import can of course be run as a batch and thus automated for a daily update. Conclusion For users who are looking for a cost-effective solution and work in EUR or only need CHF/EUR as an exchange rate, this tool is a great fit! Otherwise, an interface to a local provider would have to be created instead.
