ISO 20022 is the international standard for payment transactions in the European SEPA area. As many as 34 countries already use it. International payment flows become more predictable (cash flow), costs are harmonised and, thanks to the IBAN number, errors are to be prevented. In Switzerland, this XML-based format is now being introduced step by step by 2018. The previous payment slips are being adapted and the ESR/DTA format is being replaced with new message types («pain», «camt»). For the third quarter of this year, Microsoft has announced an update for AX versions 2009 to 2012 R3 to support these new ISO formats.
