Test automation with Executive Automats * WIIFM -> What's in it for me In recent months, I have been pleased to note that our customers have increasingly begun to engage with automating their processes in D365FO. But what is the actual benefit? Creating scripts to automate processes in D365FO is time-consuming and, depending on the solution, additional licence costs are also incurred. The benefits for you as a customer Don't worry! Creating a script requires no programming whatsoever. A tool records all of a user's actions. These steps can then be adjusted and extended afterwards. A process recorded in this way can even be reused as a sub-process within other processes; this means a recording can be reused across different business cases. It does not always make sense to automate a process completely. This can be very time-consuming. However, creating simple business cases can provide a good basis for more advanced tests. A script can be run in different systems without modification. A test from the TEST system can subsequently also be run in a „UAT" or even in „PROD". With Executive Automats, any website can essentially be automated : creating an order in the web shop, opening an email in Outlook Online, loading data from another website: no problem. Web services or OData can also be accessed. With Microsoft's RSAT, by contrast, there are some limitations here. Nightly verification in UAT (Sandbox) Automated core processes can be run daily via a schedule. This enables verification of the entire infrastructure, including interfaces.
